Animal Census Follow-up Services
Bartels, Taylor & Associates Pty Ltd (BTA P/L)
can manage for Council the follow-up of
unregistered animals detected on rated properties.
A number of residents will continue to house unregistered animals on their properties following the activities of an
Animal Census Service. BTA P/L offers Council a service to follow-up with owners of animals identified in the
Animal Census Service as being unregistered and that continue to remain unregistered following a period of time.
Our staff are skilled in negotiation and customer service and can:
- return to the address of non registered animals and communicate with the owner the importance of animal registration.
- provide owners with information relating to animal registration, including Council's animal registration documentation
- provide information on continuing non-compliance.
In the event of a
non co-operative animal owner, BTA P/L will provide Council with:
- a photo image of the unregistered animal, and
- a Statutory Declaration.
This documentation can later be used as evidence to support any Court procedures Council chooses to pursue.
Councils that use the Animal Census Follow-up Service benefit from:
- continuity
of the Animal Census process
- heightened public profile
as to the requirements for animal registration
- heightened community awareness
of Council's commitment to its local law enforcement
- equality
between residents who register animals and those who fail to do so
- a higher overall compliance
rate of animal registrations
- a comprehensive data base
of information about the animals, particularly dangerous animals, located within Council's boundaries
